Student Residence Permit (SRP) - Documents Required

The required documents are in the process of being updated to match the new procedures put in place on 18.05.2015, the documents here are taken from the old requirements and will be updated as soon as the new ones are published.

The Turkish Student Residence Permit is available for up to 12 months per application.


 

 Before starting you will need:-

  • A valid entry permit (tourist or otherwise)
  • A valid passport (with at least 60 days remaining after the end of the residency period requested)
  • Enough funds in a Turkish bank account for the duration of the residence permit (currently $500 for each Month, or the equivalent in a different currency)
  • Yabanci Kimlik Number
  • Turkish Tax number

 

1. Primary-Secondary Education

1.1. First application

  • Residence Permit Application Form
  • Original and photocopy of the passport or travel document
  • Relevant visa issued by foreign representative offices of the Republic of Turkey
  • Four (4) photographs
  • Notification regarding sufficient and sustainable resources for the duration of their stay (Notified in the application form. Management may ask for supportive document. If the foreigner’s expenses are covered by state institution within the mentioned duration, the management is informed about this at application.)
  • Student certificate
  • Letter of consent given by mother/father living abroad or legal guardian and commitment letter to be issued by natural or legal persons in Turkey provided that it is noted in the letter of consent; on occasion that the person is under the age 18
  • Valid medical insurance (one of the followings shall be sufficient):
    • Document enabling health services in Turkey within the scope of bilateral social security agreements
    • Provision document issued by Social Security Institution
    • Document regarding the application made to the Social Security Institution to have general health insurance
    • Private health insurance

1.2. Renewal application

  • Residence Permit Application Form
  • Original and photocopy of the passport or travel document
  • Four (4) photographs
  • Notification regarding sufficient and sustainable resources for the duration of their stay (Notified in the application form. Management may ask for supportive document. If the foreigner’s expenses are covered by state institution within the mentioned duration, the management is informed about this at application.)
  • Student certificate
  • New letter of consent and commitment letter regarding the minors under 18 if the renewal application doesn’t include the duration of renewal
  • Valid medical insurance (one of the followings shall be sufficient):
    • Document enabling health services in Turkey within the scope of bilateral social security agreements
    • Provision document issued by Social Security Institution
    • Private health insurance including the duration of renewal

2. Associate-Undergraduate-Graduate-Postgraduate

2.1. First application

  • Residence Permit Application Form
  • Original and photocopy of the passport or travel document
  • Four (4) photographs
  • Notification regarding sufficient and sustainable resources for the duration of their stay (Notified in the application form. Management may ask for supportive document. If the foreigner’s expenses are covered by state institution within the mentioned duration, the management is informed about this at application.)
  • Student certificate
  • Letter of consent given by mother/father living abroad or legal guardian and commitment letter to be issued by natural or legal persons in Turkey provided that it is noted in the letter of consent; on occasion that the person is under the age 18
  • Valid health insurance (On condition that students demand, they shall be within the scope of general health insurance as of registration date for three months; for this reason valid health insurance will not be demanded. However, it is required that the management shall be informed after the general health insurance made. One of the followings shall be sufficient.):
    • Document enabling health services in Turkey within the scope of bilateral social security agreements
    • Provision document issued by Social Security Institution
    • Document regarding the application made to the Social Security Institution to have general health insurance
    • Private health insurance

2.2. Renewal application

  • Residence Permit Application Form
  • Original and photocopy of the passport or travel document
  • Four (4) photographs
  • Notification regarding sufficient and sustainable resources for the duration of their stay (Notified in the application form. Management may ask for supportive document. If the foreigner’s expenses are covered by state institution within the mentioned duration, the management is informed about this at application.)
  • Student certificate
  • New letter of consent and commitment letter regarding the minors under 18 if the renewal application doesn’t include the duration of renewal
  • Valid medical insurance (one of the followings shall be sufficient):
    • Document enabling health services in Turkey within the scope of bilateral social security agreements

3. Exchange Programmes

3.1. First application

  • Residence Permit Application Form
  • Original and photocopy of the passport or travel document
  • Four (4) photographs
  • Notification regarding sufficient and sustainable resources for the duration of their stay (Notified in the application form. Management may ask for supportive document. If the foreigner’s expenses are covered by state institution within the mentioned duration, the management is informed about this at application.)
  • Student certificate
  • Document regarding the “exchange programme” to be attended, issued by educational institution on
  • Letter of consent given by mother/father living abroad or legal guardian and commitment letter to be issued by natural or legal persons in Turkey provided that it is noted in the letter of consent; on occasion that the person is under the age 18
  • Valid health insurance (On condition that students demand, they shall be within the scope of general health insurance as of registration date for three months; for this reason valid health insurance will not be demanded.     • Document enabling health services in Turkey within the scope of bilateral social security agreements o Provision document issued by Social Security Institution

  • Foreigners whose health expenses during the aforementioned programmes are covered by relevant state institutions and organizations shall not be stipulated for valid health insurance.
