and when I say know, I mean does anyone actually "know", rather than think they may have overheard someone say something similar, which therefore must be the truth, law or in many cases actual gospel!!

I'm thinking of buying a hunting bow (and arrows), not in Turkey obviously, they are way too expensive! ::rofl but I can get a good composite bow for £100 - £150 in the UK!

Therein lies the problem! I have tried to check on airline websites but no detail!

1 - Is it ok to transport a Bow (hold luggage I assume) from the uk to Turkey?
2 - Is it legal to have a bow in Turkey, or will customs just confiscate it?

Cant answer for sure but I know a man who can :)

Try a PM to Fatih (www.facebook.com/fozcil), he was a teacher at the Antalya Archery School I went to a while back and competes in international competitions, I'm sure he will be happy to help you out, tell him Robin Hood sent you ;)

(are you sure your back can handle the draw weight necessary for hunting? You're not getting any younger :P )

1) You can transport Archery equipment (bow and arrow,crossbow) on flights as checked in luggage only.You can not carry on board as it is classed as an projectile firing weapon.

2) It is legal to own a bow in Turkey.If used for hunting you will require a hunting licence.As far as customs is concerned it can be classified as a weapon therefore customs could confiscate it...it is up to the customs officers incentive so it's a 50-50 chance

GOOD LUCK

incentive
::rofl

Like everything else then it depends on the bribe if you end up getting your property or not :)

Ive lost count of the amount Ive lost on bribes in my time here, endemic corruption :(

Mind you, if you can get a decent bow Steve for that money, can you get me one too? Worth the risk :)
