Cave house in Orthahisar, Cappadocia.

Location/Views
The house has a view of the castle from the back and Mt. Erciyes from the front and is a few meters down the street from the brand new House Hotel (Turkish boutique hotel chain). It gets lots of light and is on an easily accessible street, minutes away from the center of town.

Rooms
There is a kitchen, lounge (cave/stone) and sitting room in one section; two arched rooms (bedroom, bathroom) in another; and a bedroom suite, with views and a terrace, upstairs (arched room/regular bathroom with marble tiles). There is a courtyard, a few small terraces and a small office/bathroom, with views, on a third level. There's also a rather large cave basement (unfinished).

Utilities
There's central heating - sub-floor - which is highly efficient. The furnace was replaced last year. There's also a hot water heater, plus solar panels.

Condition
Good. Everything is in working order and the place is in "move-in" condition. Could also be suitable for a small B&B.

"Ortahisar is a charming town in central Cappadocia, relatively untouched by tourism. At the heart of Ortahisar is the impressive ‘hisar’ or fortress from which the town gets its name. This massive rock formation is dotted with holes that served as carved chambers. Today, the town retains its authentic feel, with a central square surrounded by mosques, coffee houses, ateliers, antique shops and traditional barbershops. One highlight of the town is the private museum of local history. Ortahisar is also very near the Balkan Valley with its fairy chimneys, and conveniently located near to Göreme and Ürgüp, and the surrounding sights."
