Would like to help, but am 100k from Antalya and can't get there. Sorry maybe someone closer could help.
There is also the question if foreigners can donate blood in Turkey.

URGENT REQUEST: We have a request for blood from a patient currently in Akdeniz University Hospital in Antalya, the patients blood type is A+ so if anyone with the blood types A+, A-, O+ or O- can donate, can you please call Esra

Now it may be just me that missed it but what is the policy on foreigners donating blood? I know it has been restricted for UK citizens that lived in the UK in the 90s due to vCJD - has anything changed?

To me there are other far more common risks as according to WHO
'From October 1996 to March 2011, 175 cases of vCJD have been reported in the United Kingdom, 25 in France, 5 in Spain, 4 in Ireland, 3 each in the Netherlands and the United States of America (USA), 2 each in Canada, Italy and Portugal, and one each in Japan, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan. The number of cases of vCJD in the United Kingdom peaked in 2000 with 28 deaths. It has since declined to about 2 diagnosed cases and 2 deaths per year in 2008.'

AFAIK the "ban" due to CJD is only for the state blood bank, other hospitals can accept or not based on their own guidelines, I can only assume/hope they have their own monitored screening processes but .......
