Went down today to try out the only shooting range in Antalya but it wasn't finished yet

Spoke with the owner though who was finishing off the place, he speaks great English and has built a really nice range with all the "mod-cons" electronic target holders and cameras aimed at each target distance so you can see your shot location on a screen in your lane rather than having to bring the target back to you to see.

An industrial air filter/AC system removes any gunpowder residue from the atmosphere, all in all it looks like it will be a great place, they also have a nice large restaurant beside the range, the Bang Bang Bistro ::groucho

The opening was delayed apparently because they were asked to delay it "because of the attempted coup" but it should be open next weekend, 20th August if anyone fancies some shooting practice :zip

Hey Murkey.
Shooting range looks great!
quick question if you don't mind.
Do you know what the gun laws are for us foreigners/yabanci's?
Are we able to have a gun license here in turkey?

Hi Maverick, no, we (ie: foreigners, yabanci) aren't allowed licences for live ammo weapons (we're not as stable or responsible as Turks! :no ;) ) BUT some of the new advanced airguns have a higher muzzle velocity and just as good stopping power as the smaller caliber live ammo weapons anyway and we CAN legally own them! You can get everything from sniper style rifles to semi auto AR style airguns with incredible FPS figures.

The over the counter live guns have restrictions anyway, yes, technically Turks can own guns BUT there is no rifling in the barrel allowed! So most use the cartridge ammo and are accurate as far as I can pee! So a powerful air rifle is a better bet anyway, don't bother with pistols, you know what they say, a pistol is only any good for fighting your way to your rifle :)

Oh and crossbows are banned too :(
